James Su – Chairman of CAFF&CATF、President of EDI Media Inc.、CEO of iCiTi TV

Mr. James Su is the first Chinese American to own and operate a mainstream radio broadcasting channel in U.S. He is the founder of EDI Media Inc. and the president of iCiTi News; which encompasses multiple TV stations, radio stations, magazines, and newspapers. In 2005, Mr. Su founded the Chinese America Film Festival as chairman and contributed to cultural exchange between U.S. and China in the past 30 years. In 2011, he was rewarded the National Leadership Award by the National Republican Congressional Committee. In 2011, during Beijing screening of Beijing Film Festival, he was awarded with honorary title of Outstanding Oversea Promotion Executor of Chinese Film. As the Chairman of American Asian Artistic Foundation, Mr. Su actively participates in various philanthropic activities, contributed to arts and educational foundations in the greater Los Angeles Area and has built multiple electronic libraries for youth living in rural in China. In 2011, he won the Cultural Exchange Award of the 2nd Global Chinese Broadcasting Award; in 2014, he won the outstanding contribution award in the third global Chinese broadcasting awards. Due to his contributions to facilitating cultural exchange between U.S. and China, in 2012, a resolution from the California State Assembly declared Dec. 26th as “James Su Day” in the State of California. In 2013, Mr. Su became a moderator and host for the Cultural forum and Media Summit at Boao Forum of Asia. In 2014, Mr. James Su was appointed as the board member of at Beijing Normal University’s Research Institute for Chinese Culture and International Communications; in 2015, Mr. Su was recognized by the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese. In 2016, he was honored with The U.S. President’s Volunteer Service Award, Gold in for his extraordinary contribution to the community; in 2017, he was invited to be the senior lecturer of film and television class hosted by Shanghai Film Group and later again in 2025 as a lecturer at Beijing Normal University. During COVID, Su, his team, and community leaders gathered to fundraise and donate PPE, food, and essentials for local medical and emergency responders.
